yea so we have a lot of gaming topics here, why not start another one?
What was the hardest game you have ever played? Mine would have to be Alien Hominid HD. I can't even get past the first level! I remember playing it on Gamecube when I was in first or second grade, and I do not remember it being THIS hard! I was at least able to get past the first level...
well what about you?

I'm not much of a masochist when it comes to video games, so most of the insanely hard ones I've played I probably can't remember due to discontinuing playing them soon after.
What I'd find a little more interesting than the general question of "what're the most difficult games you've played?" is the question "what're the most difficult video games you've been able to succeed at?"
Here's some of the most difficult games I've been able to essentially "beat" or "win at." The first one would have to be the time I played single player through the whole Halo 3 campaign on legendary difficulty. Playing through in co-op/multiplayer was always so easy, because one team-mate could hold back and essentially work as a respawn point for the other players, but in single player or with certain Skulls turned on it makes you revert to your last checkpoint after getting killed. The most frustrating level had to be "Cortana." Typically, in the Halo campaign games, any of the levels with tons of Flood prove to be the most difficult ones.
The only video game genre I think I could've ever labeled myself a "pro" at would be the rhythm games "Guitar Hero" and "Rock Band." At the hight of my skill at the games I was able to at the very least pass every on-disc track in the GH catologue on expert difficulty except Jordan by Buckethead on GH2, due to poor luck with calibrating the game on an HD TV. Of course I could 5 star Through the Fire and Flames on Guitar Hero 3, that was essentially a cake walk compared to another song by Dragonforce released for Rock Band 3 called Operation Ground and Pound which I was only able to 4 star on expert (funnily OGaP was also released as DLC for GH3 and was clearly the easiest one to play out of the four released for GH3.)
I could also easily Gold Star (note, in Rock Band "Gold Starring" doesn't constitute a "Full Combo") Caprici di Diablo by Yngwie Malmsteen on expert guitar. Essentially every on disc RB song was super easy, but the DLC was much more difficult in some cases like the aforementioned OGaP released for RB3 which was probably the most difficult song I was ever able to pass in any rhythm game.
Here's a video of someone else playing OGaP on expert guitar on RB3 to give anyone here an idea of how crazy it was. (Particularly partly into the main solos is where most people who were able to pass the early parts messed up.) I was able to sometimes play some parts better than this person, as well as some parts worse but I'd say in this video at least they seem to present around a similar skill level to my own, though they overall did somewhat better.
Skip to 5:11 for the main solos.

The most difficult game I have ever played is Dead space 2 on hardcore difficulty, I have yet to beat it. This is due to the fact that there are no checkpoints, you start back at your last save point, that wouldn't be so bad, except you only have 3 saves for the entire game, and it is a pretty long game. Overall it is difficult.
