Yeah so the bible is just a fictitious story, so have you judged it in regards to literature?

I'm planning on doing this exact thing after I finish reading the Christopher Hitchens novels I've been working on. But yeah, the complete old and new testaments followed by the koran and torah, then maybe the egyptian book of the dead(pretty much the same as the bible from my understanding). Probably going to be quite a while to get through all of those however. It's more of a know your enemy kind of thing for me, but I look forward to seeing how it reads.

Seems like a dull book to me. I don't like fiction anyway.

I suggest you go through it on the brick testament, which is more amusing, or the skeptics annotated bible, which has some good commentary.

Reading a modern day translation (with current English) can also be easier than, for example, the KJV.

It is long, just take it part by part and set a schedule and you'll get through it.

You might have to skip the genealogies for sanity though.
