A euphemism for murder?

Post by XandWacky »

I've always wondered this. I recently read a news story about a seven-year-old girl who lost her entire family, and almost everyone else (Not her family related in this accident), in an airplane accident, which was believed to be caused by pilot error. I left a comment saying "I hope she does well in life." and continued on my merry way until I realized a few people were saying "God has a great plan for her", "This is God's plan for her", "It all falls into God's plan". But how would someone explain that to the little girl? Saying that will make her question God and his reasons for killing off her family. You could say "It was those people's time" but then you are basically saying those people could have no longer lived their lives due to the fact the Lord deemed it time for them to pass. No matter what way someone puts this, saying something about "God's plan" makes it, again, seem like it was meant to happen when anyone could've been saved. Does that mean this all just a euphemism for killing of people? Or murder even? It rattles me.

It's a ridiculous saying. If an omnipotent god's plan involves all the incredible evils of this world, it is surely an evil god.
