Post your favorite song parts of all time

Post by Jebus »

Not looking for the whole song. Just the part of the song that really means something to you. Please post the clip starting about 5 seconds before your favorite part. In case you don't know how to- on Youtube pause the video where you want the clip to begin- then right click Get Video URL at current time. Copy and paste the new URL that pops up on the screen.

Rush Freewill- 4.00- 4.37. Geddy Lee's high falsetto combined with Neil Peart's drumming makes for perfect rock music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpOyQhgM1FU#t=236

Genesis- The Lamia 3:20- 4:51 Whole Song is epic, but it turns into perfection when Peter Gabriel's perfect voice matches Phil Collin's drumming https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi9gFuc4JkM#t=198

X Japan- Art of Life 3:16-8:45 I might be cheating a bit here posting a 5 minute song part, but considering the length of the song (34 min.) it's only a small part. Yoshiki's drumming is the best I have ever seen before or since. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrc2M7cNPWk#t=191

Boston- My destination. Brad Delp's (known as the nicest guy in Rock n' Roll) soaring vocals (starting at 1:23) on top of the beautiful guitar riffs get me every time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYA9cWs ... sKDgI#t=48

Manfred Mann's Earth Band- Waiting for the rain- My favorite song of all time. But the part starting at 4:07 with the subsequent violin part always gives me the chills. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flIjZGx12_g#t=237

Helen Sjöholm- You have to be there. Such an epic finale to an epic song. The finale starts building at 3:57. The song has a religious theme but is written by two atheists (Bjorn and Benny from Abba) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61ZIsdrlxnY#t=234 Actually, the Swedish version is even better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2idVI73ais#t=171

Loreena McKennit- Dante's Prayer- Hard to know where to start in this one as the whole song is so great. However, the line "Please remember me", followed by the vocal part at 2.30 almost puts a tear in my eye. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mxok9DB9co#t=80

The Doors- When the Music's over- The soundtrack of my youth. The long and somewhat boring instrumental part ends at 9.40 when Morrison starts one of his best vocal performances ever ending with the beautiful "until the end" lyric at 10:33 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkKRU1ajKFA#t=575

Alphaville- Lassie Come Home- I can't recall ever hearing a slow song with such a "rich" sound. Again, hard to pick a part from this song and it hurt not including the excellent intro. However, if starting the clip at 2:35 one gets the cool "in the park" lyric at 3.15 which is hard to get your head around. It also includes the cool vocal layers at the end of the song which sound like they are trying to catch up with the music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Siyr8pW4k3A#t=155

Led Zeppelin- The Rain Song- Like Stairway to Heaven this song starts slow and finishes strong and the voice nuances is what made Robert Plant so great. My favorite part is the faster part from 5.05- 5:50 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7ISTWWBhVk#t=293

The Who- The epic see me, feel me line from Tommy 00.07-1.05 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZPtrWvlFRU

Susanne Vega- The Queen and the Soldier. The intro is my favorite intro to any song, particularly the first note. Anyways, if you haven't heard this song before you definitely need to see it to the end. Possibly the greatest lyrics ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-I_7M_JeSoc

This'll be pretty difficult for me to choose what parts of my favourite songs I'd like to share here, because most of my favourite songs I love throughout their whole, or at least most of their duration, and sometimes there really isn't a stand out part as all of it is equally great. But I'll do my best.

Unfortunately the song that my name is from that I wanted to share isn't individually on youtube in a good sounding quality, so I'm gonna post the upload on youtube of the full album, but obviously skipped just a bit before the stand-out part of the song.

The song is Dreamsphere (Return to the Chaos) by Sigh. The part I'm skipping to in the song that's my favourite part is the solo near the end, which I've always loved, though it has a better effect if you've listened from the beginning of the song to the part, but either way it's still pretty great. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIJ56d-8yPs#t=1862

Here's another part of a song I love, also unfortunately the only acceptable version on youtube to my ears is on the full album upload. The song is Eldast, Utan a Gro by the band Vreid. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mq_XMgqywpE#t=1423

Eternal Beauty of the Trees by Uaral. Its outro, or what I would consider its outro (it's about a bit over a 3rd of the song) is absolutely beautiful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM2tZN43RLQ#t=223

Here's another song by Sigh, but luckily I was able to find an upload of just the single song in a good quality. The song is The Transfiguration Fear, and the part I'm skipping to is the part of the three solos on different instruments one after another, Keyboard/Saxophone/Guitar. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dqKbzRqc5g#t=134

Here's Ontologically, It Became Time and Space by Absu. I love the evolution of the riffs that go on for over a minute from where I linked to in the song. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OyC44UZQCk#t=104

There are many others I could post, but I feel I should leave it at that for now.
