New with many Questions (Video)

Post by Drake »

This next link directs to a very interesting video, i believe the person giving the talk is pretty obnoxious but he gives out some points that, me not being a scientist, has a hard time refuting, to me it makes sense but i am starting to realize allot of things that don't make sense in religion either, i'm just trying to understand so if any of you knows what the counter arguments are please contact me to discus some points, i know it might take some time, the video is 2 hrs long but if anyone does i would really like to chat about it (sorry my English isn't very good but i think i know enough to understand)
Video : Kent Hovind Why Evolution is Stupid (thats the name of the video on youtube, i'm not trying to offend anyone) anyway, thanks!

Welcome to the forums! Consider making an introduction post.

I'm not gonna take the time to refute all of Kent Hovind's ridiculous arguments, but a guy called Logicked did:

If you have doubts about evolution I would reccomend the book "Undeniable" by Bill Nye, it's very easy to understand and brings forth tons of evidence of evolution happening.

Also, I would like to point out that even if evolution, the big bang theory, etc. are all false, that does not mean a god exists. It would simply mean we don't know, and disbelief would still be the default position.

If you'd like, you could tell me which arguments are most compelling to you, and I'll do my best to refute them.

You can switch to HTML 5 based player, and under settings, double the playback speed. Then it'll just be one hour.

OP:

Like Miniboes said, if there's anything in particular you'd like to see debunked, please let us know.

I remember skimming through that video some time ago. It contains so many false and completely unscientific claims, that it's just laughable (raising your blood pressure at the same time). Everyone with a basic understanding of evolution can debunk his claims.

@brimstoneSalad
Awesome tip to speed up videos. Wasn't aware of that possibility on YouTube.
