Vegan Halloween and Trick or Treating

I'm not sure if Halloween is going to be a thing this year or not, but I suppose costume masks make the cut.
I haven't gone trick or treating in about 8 years (I'm where Hurricane Sandy hit and Trick or Treating wasn't really an option at that time) and I kinda just stopped doing it after that. Given that, being a vegan on Halloween was never really a concern.
There are some things vegan parents can do when their kids bring home non-vegan candy such as giving it away when new trick or treaters come, but I'd say that even though you didn't pay for it, it's still probably not a good idea to eat it since eating it instead of giving it out would probably cause kids to go out and get more of that candy.
You can also just ask the people giving away the candy to not give anything with milk or eggs because your child is allergic to them (even if they aren't) since telling them you only accept vegan candy makes you kind of seem like a prude and not a fun parent. I'd be careful with this strategy though.
If you wanna be sure, here's a list of vegan candies:

What do you guys do on Halloween? I mostly just sit at home and play Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare and eat pumpkin seeds (Bob's Red Mill, it's too much work to actually get a pumpkin and carve it) to keep with the tradition.
