Monthly update #6 (January, 2021)

Post by thebestofenergy »

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well. Happy new year!

This month we made new recipes, adding to the list that we already have. And with the recipe list growing, so are the ebook’s recipes getting closer to completion, as well as the ebook itself.
Feel free to check all the recipes we have at the index of recipes.

We added more to the NTT page, expanding on the ‘named traits’ examples further.

We wrote the basics for cooking in the cooking methods page, which has instructions and tips for everyone that is just starting out to cook to be able to go vegan.

How to go vegan is a new page, dedicated to helping people go vegan. It will be a useful guide for everyone that is just starting out, and a useful link to give to anyone that is interested in going vegan.
We’ll add more to it as we go.

We overhauled the wiki/index.php/Index_of_Recipes_by_Nutritional_Values page. Now, all the recipes are standardized for 100 kcal, meaning that you can compare the concentration of nutrients of each recipe with another.
This is particularly useful for diet planning, as you can pick your favorite recipes that are high in concentration of different nutrients, so as to make sure you're getting everything you need without having to worry. For example, per 100 kcal, recipe X that you like is high in calcium and potassium, and recipe Y that you like is high in vitamin A and E. So eating both of those in decent portions will guarantee you're getting enough of said nutrients.
Once we add enough recipes to cover most common foods, this tool should make it easy to know how to make your diet work by only eating stuff you like, without having to check everyday on each food you’re eating.

Join our Discord if you want to participate and give suggestions, and feel free to leave your feedback below.

Thank you to all the people participating in the forum and making this community a more active one.
Many thanks to all the people spending their time voluntarily helping out with all sorts of projects.
And last but not least, special thanks to the people donating to Patreon and directly supporting the making of these projects at: https://www.patreon.com/philosophicalvegan

We have a lot planned, and any support helps us free up time for us to work on the Wiki and other stuff, and for future projects to happen.
