Hi everyone...

I'm Lily. I've been vegan for almost 9 years now. I'm also a Christian. Not long after going vegan, I created a website and YouTube channel (called Live Mercifully) to try to reach other believers for veganism. So I make videos, blog posts, and things like that.

I've been posting on a very mainstream discussion forum, and since there is only one other vegan there, I've been wanting to find a forum with like-minded people.

So I did a search, and here I am. :)

nice to meet you all!

Hi Red. The videos are mostly about veganism from a biblical perspective...to specifically try to reach non-vegan Christians. (There's a real need to reach that group) But some are more general, for anyone. It's not letting me post a link to it here. But the URL is youtube dot com / livemercifully and it should bring my channel up. I'm also livemercifully on Instagram. Thanks! :)

I found your channel. It is fairly uncommon to meet a Vegan Christian (most Vegans in my experience tend to either be Atheist, Buddhist, or some sort of New-age persuasion), and I totally agree there needs to be some more Vegan Christian voices, and I do think it's good that you're making it something more broad instead of making Veganism look like it's something only for Christians (this is a mistake a lot of over-zealous Vegans make, such as anti-capitalist vegans who think veganism is some sort of anticapitalist ideology).

Do you have a lot of success in your efforts? You probably have more luck with the more liberal and modern Christians instead of traditional ones. Do you try to reach Christians generally, or do you focus more on Catholics or Protestants?

Yeah, I too have seen that most vegans tend to be atheist, agnostic... or if they are spiritual, more of the Eastern religions or New Age persuasion. But believe it or not, biblical veganism is a growing movement. A good friend of mine co-founded an online church that has a focus on creation care. It's called Creation Care Church. I'm part of the leadership team and we do live talks every Friday on YouTube and Facebook. So I meet a lot of Christian vegans through CCC, and we're always seeing new people who come to the live talks and follow the FB page. It's just a matter of getting the word out there, because I think a lot of Christians are simply unaware of how horrible the animal industries are, and how it completely goes against the values they believe in.

As for success....Well, I've had a few people tell me that I influenced them to go vegan. But the thing is, I don't put out content often enough and I'm not as consistent as I should be. So, my channel is still small because for a channel to grow, one has to be more prolific and consistent, you know? Oh, and no, it's not focused on any particular denomination.

But like I said, the good news is through CCC I think we are making a difference. So... If you know any Christians who you would like to go vegan, please send them to our website (creationcarechurch dot org) or our YouTube channel. Craig is our speaker / pastor, he's really good at communicating the message.

Thanks for your questions and thanks again for the welcome.
